I can't believe Monday is here already. Where did the weekend go? We're in the middle of a heat wave in my neck of the woods, and that is pretty rare here in the Pacific Northwest.
Today we have author Linda Thomas-Sundstrom in the house to answer our three fave questions. Welcome,Linda
SC: Tell me a little bit about your main character of this book.
LTS: Macy Lyons is a beautiful she-wolf scout for a secretive Arizona wolf pack housed in an old abandoned fort that was once a popular tourist attraction. She has special Were traits that no one yet knows about, and was given the moniker of “Lightning Woman” because of both her speed and her love of the wild desert storms. She is sometimes visited by the ghosts of departed souls that roam the desert…but no one knows about this, either.
Logan Carter is a gorgeous Florida detective who chases a rogue werewolf all the way to Arizona. He is a tall, intelligent, capable Were, and dangerous in his own right…but in Arizona’s prickly desert landscape, he is a fish (or werewolf) out of water. His task gets divided once he meets and is instantaneously attracted to the Desperado she-wolf scout who first finds him – a she-wolf as unique as the stripes of color on her face that are reminiscent of western war paint.
SC: Would love a nice storm right now to cool things off. Do you believe in the paranormal and if so, do you have an experience you can share?
LTS: I do believe in the paranormal, and have had a few experiences that prove to me the existence of things beyond our usual realms of comfort and belief systems
I’ve had a visit from a ghost in a Hawaii hotel…later confirmed as a woman who had passed away there.
I’ve had my Grandmother, looking very real for a few seconds, riding in the passenger seat of my car on the day she passed away – without me knowing she had died.
My mother and I shared a close connection, with almost a psychic ability to respond to each others’ needs at time, and quite often.
This is only a smattering of things I’ve experienced.
SC: Sounds like you are in tune with the paranormal. We love that around here. What titles are you working on now that you can tell us about?
LTS: Lightning Woman is my current release, and my 45th book, 44 of which tiptoe through paranormal/supernatural realms. It’s the third book I’ve written that deals with spirits as side characters to a central mystery. I’ve titled this new series Wolves of the West, and besides the three other books I have coming out this year, I do plan on involving more spirits in that series. Other 2021 titles to be released are: Seduced by the Moon, Wolf Touched, and the Tinsel, Wings and Fur box set of Holiday novellas. Future plans for 2022 invoive a new ghost graveyard series of four books.
SC: You are a busy lady. We've enjoyed our chat today. Come back soon. We'll take a look at your book now.
Excerpt:As Logan studied this female vision that had appeared like a desert spirit borne on the blistering hot wind, he couldn’t help but appreciate her uniqueness. In fact, this representative of the Desperado pack was quite stunning, and radiated enough personal power for her outline to waver.Pretty and dangerous...Moonlight slid down each strand of straight black hair that fell to the she-wolf’s waist like sparkling water dripping from the skies. All that hair curtained a narrow body with few noticeable curves and very few wolfish traits, even though she had shape-shifted.She was tall and slight of frame, with long, shapely legs. Her bare arms were beautifully sculpted with a layer of smooth, lean muscle. One arm bore the swirls of a colorful tattoo Logan couldn’t get a read on from where he stood because his focus kept returning to her face.A slightly elongated facial structure, shadowed, angular, and with prominent cheekbones, was the real proof of what she was, and made him think this female might be a pure-blooded Were. Under the moonlight, the shadows on her face represented her missing patches of fur, or where fur would have been on any normal werewolf under a full moon. In fact, she bore no fur anywhere that he could see.Crossing her right eye socket and extending two or three inches beneath it were three stripes of color that could have either been paint or tattoos. White. Black. Green. The effect suggested to Logan she might have Native American roots, though lots of women had unusual tattoos these days.Damn, though. Maybe she really was some kind of a spirit.
Thanks for having me and posting about my latest book. *smiley face*
