BOUNTY HUNTRESS by SHERI QUEEN

Got the children all nestled all snug in their beds with visions of…well, certainly not sugarplums, dancing in their heads? Good. Your job for the day is done. Time to open a good book. Today we have BOUNTY HUNTRESS Sleepy Hollow Hunter Book One, A Hotel Paranormal Story by Sheri Queen.
Here's the cover by  Kelley York, X-Potion Designs. I love the nod to black and white in this., and look at those eyes!
Here's what it is about:

Janda Gray’s a Lykoi—part werecat, part wolf—shunned by both sides of her lineage.
She yearns for the day when she can escape the disdainful glances and leave her home on the outskirts of Sleepy Hollow, NY. When she lands a lucrative bounty hunter contract, she thinks her life is finally turning around. All she has to do is lure her werecat target from the safety of the Hotel Paranormal.

Then she meets a werepanther. Her life will never be the same.
Alexander Holden, second-in-command of a powerful werecat clan, is accused of murdering the woman he was to marry. He must find the real killer to clear his name or spend the rest of his supernaturally long life on the run.

Complications arise after Janda falls for the man she’s supposed to be capturing.
Now she must decide if following her heart is worth risking everything, including the love they’ve found in each other’s embrace.

Love is about making sacrifices. Saving him is all that matters.
Bounty Huntress is the introduction to the Sleepy Hollow Hunter series, as well as a Hotel Paranormal story.

The Hotel Paranormal is THE place for supernatural beings looking to get away from it all. Beings like werewolves, vampires, elves, sprites, djinn and more check in from all over the world for business and for pleasure—and sometimes for both.

Sheri stopped by to have a chat with Supernatural Central, and here's what we discovered about her:

SC:.Tell me a little bit about your main character of this book.

SQ:Janda Gray is a Lykoi—part werecat, part wolf. Her character was inspired by the Lykoi cat.
It just so happened I had come across a post about Lykoi cats and how they’re a “werewolf cat.”

As writers will do, I started down the rabbit hole of research. I loved what I found. These little cats are often scraggily and rather bald in spots. They do tend to have the appearance of a wolf, particularly around the face and the texture of their hair. In their own way they are cute—the kind of cuteness that grows on you.

From there I thought about what it would be like to be caught between two worlds—cat and wolf. That has to be a seriously tough environment, and it was the basis of my protagonist’s inner conflict. Janda is decidedly more cat than wolf in appearance and deals with self-esteem issues stemming from growing up a mixed breed in a wolf pack.
She finds acceptance with Alexander Holden the werepanther she is targeting in her bounty hunter contract, which leads to a whole lot of problems. To top it off, the place she has to go to find him is in a different dimension—one she can only access through a portal in a wolf biker bar—and where time is a lot different than it is in her normal world. While Janda has no idea how long she’s actually been away from her own world, her two-day reservation at the hotel ends up being more than enough time to fall in love and find herself helping the werepanther she had gone to capture.

Through her relationship with Alex, Janda learns how to love herself, and she’s willing to sacrifice everything to save him.
SC: We have to admit, werecats are new for us. Do you believe in the paranormal and if so, do you have an experience you can share?

SQ:Yes, I do. I was more in-tune with the paranormal realm as a child, but I do believe in ghosts. I’ve had people call out to me as I was falling asleep, only to discover the next day that they had died.
SC: It does seem that kids are more accepting of unexplained things. What titles are you working on now that you can tell us about?

SQ: Bounty Huntress is the lead-in to a new series I’m working on—the Sleepy Hollow Hunter series. I don’t have a working title for it as yet. I also have another round of edits to complete for a novel titled Snake Stone. It’s a little over 100k words and I’ve become immersed in the Sleepy Hollow Hunter series, so Snake Stone is taking a rest until I can come back to it with fresh eyes.
