Supernatural Central Short and Quick Interview
Tell me a little bit about your main character of this book.
Cassiopeia (AKA Cassie) is one of my favorite characters. She’s spent her entire life thinking that she’s human only to find out that she’s not. She is an only child and doesn’t fully understand Fae life or their politics. She stands firm when Elven society tries to force her into a situation she doesn’t want to be in and when all hope seems lost she perseveres anyway. She’s strong and independent and is just trying to find her happiness.
Do you believe in the paranormal and if so, do you have an experience you can share?
I absolutely do. I’ve spent too much time in haunted locations to say otherwise. I was working as a receptionist in a cemetery… yep… Cemetery. And being the only one in the office, you notice everything. First, I started hearing footsteps in the attic. When I called the owner’s wife to ask her if there was attic space, she laughed and asked, “Are you hearing footsteps?” From there things started to progress. The toilets would start to flush on their own, the blinds in the file room would flap continuously and lastly, I watched as my pencil rolled across the desk and then back to its original starting point. This also happens to be where I wrote my first book, ‘The House’. I was inspired by actual events.
What titles are you working on now that you can tell us about?
I have a few things I’m working on at the moment. The Hunter’s Warrior – which is the final book in my Hunter’s series, Claimed, which is the final book in my Sidney Rinn Series, Pursuing Avalon, which is a dark fantasy/ paranormal romance book and 2 additional books in my Children of Kria series. I think I need to clone myself to get these all done!!
Excerpt:
Cassie sat in her room staring out the window. It had been three months since her husband died and yet the melancholy that enveloped her would not let go. But it wasn’t just her husband’s death that haunted her. She was, unfortunately, hit with a double whammy that night.
She was three months into her pregnancy and she and her husband, Greg, had decided to go out and celebrate. It was the first successful pregnancy she’d had since they started trying to conceive. It had taken them nearly three years and after two miscarriages and more hormone injections than Cassie would ever want to think about, the pregnancy finally took.
“If it’s a boy, we’ll have to name him Greg Jr.,” Greg said, taking her hand.
“Oh, you think so, do you? And what if I want to name him something else?” she teased.
Bringing her hand to his lips, he kissed it, “I may be willing to negotiate… for the right price.” He winked at her.
She laughed, “Only you would use sex as a bargaining chip.”
“Hey! I never even mentioned the word sex, but if it’s on the table…” he shrugged, then grinned.
