MEET TIM MAJKA (Prey: Blood of the Ancients)

Well now, what do we have here? Tim Majka has dropped in to answer our three fave questions.  Here we go:

SC: Tell me a little bit about your main character of this book.
TM: The main character of PREY, Eric Archer, loves his family and always wants to do right by them. He is intelligent, tough, sarcastic, funny, but when there is work to be done, it will get done. In many respects he’s a lot like me. J
SC: Hmm… how much like you? Do you believe in the paranormal and if so, do you       have an experience you can share?
TM: I absolutely believe in the paranormal. In our previous house (not why we moved), each of my family members and a few guests had an encounter with a little girl in a Victorian dress. She was never mean, but always wanted to play with whomever she encountered. The last person to see her was my youngest son, who came downstairs one morning at the age of 5 or 6 and said to us “The little girl went home, she won’t be with us anymore.”

My other experience in the same house was at Christmas time, my wife and I had just finished decorating and she ran out to the store to get some ingredients to make cookies. I hurried to put away all of the containers and boxes and clean up the house, turning off all of the lights except for the ones on the trees, windows, and banister on our open staircase. It gave the house a nice warm, festive glow. As I was putting the last of the empty boxes in the attic, I heard loud and clear from downstairs a woman’s voice “It’s so beautiful in here.”  I came down the stairs, expecting to see my wife, but no one was there. My wife walked in the door a few minutes later and I asked her if she had come in and left again, she said she had not.

SC: Oooh! I have tales of Christmas lights as well. But I digress. What titles are you working on now that you can tell us about?

TM: I am working on book two of my Blood of the Ancients series, Difatos Ascending from Devil Dog Press. As soon as that is completed, I will begin work on the last book of the trilogy.

SC: Thanks so much for stopping by today and sharing your stories with us. Let's take a look at your book now.

About the Author:

I spend most of my time molding the minds of America’s youth teaching high school social studies, along the shores of Lake Erie, in my hometown. I reside there with my loving and supportive family that includes my best friend and bride, Bridget, two wonderful sons most people could only dream of, Jacob and Alex, and two rescue cats: Stanley and Corky.

My reading interests cover a wide range genres. Suspense, mystery, thriller, action, adventure, sci-fi, historical, and noir. My goal is to explore as many of these as I can in my career as an author.

I am a self-professed pop-culture geek, and wear that label proudly. My sons and I have a comic book collection that is in excess of 5000 books. And we NEVER miss an opening night for any of the super-hero movies.

Living in Western New York I am conditioned to be a fan of both the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. I have dealt with much heartbreak over the years, but hold out hope that my teams will bring home those elusive championships someday.
