Supernatural Central Short and Quick Interview
1. Tell me a little bit about your main character of this book.
The main characters in The Nephilim’s Fate are Alissia and Nate. Alissia is a brilliant scientist who believes in facts, logic, and reason, unaware that she is actually a witch. Her life gets turned upside down when she meets Nate, a Nephilim—half-angel, half-human—whose mission is to protect the world from supernatural threats. Nate is strong, loyal, and bound by ancient rules that prevent him from being with a witch. Despite this, their connection is undeniable, and as Alissia discovers her magic, she must reconcile her scientific worldview with the magical reality she's now part of. Their journey is filled with forbidden love, dangerous choices, and the clash between duty and desire.
2. Do you believe in the paranormal and if so, do you have an experience you can share?
No, I don’t believe in the paranormal. In real life, I’m a scientist, so I look at things through a lens of logic and evidence. For me, the paranormal is just something we don’t understand yet, not necessarily something supernatural. That said, I’d love it if a magical world really did exist around us! That’s part of what I love about writing fantasy—I get to explore these "what if" scenarios and imagine a world where magic and the paranormal are real.
3. What titles are you working on now that you can tell us about?
Right now, I’m working on a time-travel romance that’s set to release in early 2025, called A Code of Knights and Deception. It’s a mix of historical and sci-fi elements, focusing on medieval England and how a young woman finds her way living in a medieval castle. I’m diving deep into research for this one, and it’s shaping up to be a completely different but equally exciting adventure.
Excerpt 1 Wielding magic for the first time:
Letting the magic come to me in the same way it had begun in the park, I smelled pine needles and mushrooms. At that moment, I wanted to push to get it deeper, but I forced myself to stay relaxed and let it flow through me while I told the plant how terrific it would be outside.
Sun, water, and CO2 for photosynthesis, all were waiting for her if she would come out of the soil, and that my magic would help her grow faster, that she doesn’t have to wait any longer. The feeling of earth magic got stronger, and the inner picture before me was bathed in green. I said the words of the spell. After that, I focused again on the plant, imagining how the seed germinated, how the sprouting fought its way to the surface, how the seed leaves opened, sheeting the seed coat, and how the first leaves developed and opened.
Suddenly, I heard clapping. Losing my concentration, I opened my eyes. Umbra stood before me, a broad smile on her face.
“You did it!”
I frowned for a second before I looked down. The seedling stood before me, the seed coat next to it on the soil. Exactly how I had imagined it. I put my hand in front of my mouth, tears welling in my eyes.
“I did it. I did it!” I jumped up and down, clapping my hands. I was a real witch! I could do magic, after all! Full of joy, I embraced Umbra and circled her around while we both laughed.
Thanks for having me!
