Supernatural Central Short and Quick Interview
Sheri Queen
1. Tell me a little bit about your main character of this book.
Janda Gray is a hybrid shifter who is part wolf and part were-cat. She is the child of a forbidden relationship between rival groups. After her mother died during childbirth, her father died of a broken heart. Janda was raised by her uncle in his wolf pack.
She spent most of her life not truly fitting in. Her pack bond was weak. She was taunted by one wolf in particular, but she kept forging her way in the world. Her stubbornness and strong will made her a perfect fit to become a bounty hunter for the paranormal society.
Bounty Huntress depicts the start of something bigger and potentially more rewarding for Janda. She has tough choices to make and heavy prices to pay. Once she steps inside the paranormal hotel, there’s no going back.
2. Do you believe in the paranormal and if so, do you have an experience you can share?
I do believe in paranormal energies. There is something that exists beyond our sight. I’ve lost several people very close to more over the years. While writing Brimstone, book two in the Sleepy Hollow Hunter series, I lost my mother. I struggled with guilt for the medical decisions I had to make on her behalf. Did I do right by her or not? After she died, she came to me and kissed my cheek. I knew she was fine with how we handled her end-of-life care.
3. What titles are you working on now that you can tell us about?
I have a new story coming out June 15 that is part of the Shift ‘N’ Howl anthology now up for preorder. My story is called WOLF’S BANE. The character, Kylie Quinn is in trouble. She can’t shift.
A SHIFTER WHO CAN'T SHIFT. SMALL-TOWN SECRETS EXPOSED. A LOVE THAT HANGS IN THE BALANCE. The preorder link is: https://books2read.com/wolf-s-bane
I also have a spin-off with one of the characters in Pirate Lover’s Curse, book three of the Sleepy Hollow Hunter series. Librarian For Hire will launch a new series of paranormal investigations that I’m super excited about. It’s not up for preorder yet. Here’s a sneak peek at the cover.
It’s been a pleasure to be on your blog today. Thank you so much!
Thank YOU so much! Let's take a look at this novel now...
Excerpt:“Why does anything pertaining to you have to come with extra baggage?” Uncle Damon said. His dominant pack power surged, affecting the others nearby and making them restless. The air crackled with his energy. I held my ground. His words stung, but he’d never hear me say it. I’d had lots of practice over the years keeping my hurt from showing, but at this moment, I lashed out with a barb of my own.“I’m just lucky that way. Kind of like you.” I tapped the desk with my fingertips, knowing he hated it and narrowed my eyes at him.He sure as hell had his own baggage when it came to relationships and pack bonds, especially when it came to anything with my mother.“If the two of you are done poking at one another, I’d like to move on to the pertinent issue of the cursed map,” Sebastian said. He stood a good foot away from his desk and peered down at the map as if it might explode.Everyone had a hands-off approach to the map after I’d blurted out that it was cursed.“It won’t curse you just by touching it,” I said. “At least, not from what Gwenn or I could tell. It has a hidden layer that will attack you if you try to force it out in the open.”“That’s just great,” Mutther said. “I suppose you found out firsthand?”“Not me. Gwenn did. I was the innocent bystander.”“Right. How innocent?” Nick said. He moved to Mutther’s side and viewed the map from farther away. Neither of them was taking any chances. Not that I blamed them. They had suffered from being too near me in the past. Mutther was still rebuilding his bar.
